I swallow snowflakes
as they fall into my mouth,
landing gently on my tongue
going down my throat.
They keep me guessing how long
winter might be.
I taste ice on my lips, as the wind
picks up it's course, washing shards
of bitter cold against my face.
I desire to see the light of day again,
as the sun has not yet touched the sky.
Old Man Winter won't show me the sun again
until the beginning of spring.
How I long to see the sun again, as I swallow

I’ve known how to breathe all my life,
at least that’s what I’ve been told.
No one taught me

I just opened my mouth and
